Do you like fictional novels with a scientific twist?
If so you may like TimeWise, which concerns a young boy who has been orphaned and seems disaffected.
When he moves to a new school he meets Regina who is a teacher there and teaching physics. She is 35 at the time. However, somehow he finds himself strangely attracted to her. She is very beautiful.
They form a friendship that remains platonic but seems one of deep love. She supports him and offers to pay his school fees if he takes lessons here and gains good grades.
Why should he refuse?
Thereafter, these two have regular meetings to teach and learn physics.
At times he sees Regina as slightly crazy. There seems to be more to her than she lets on.
However, after going to University and having sons failed love affairs and a marriage that does not last because of jealousy over Regina, he ends up back to help her again.
However, what was the past of Regina, and what is it that she will do now?
What will she teach him about physics in the end?
The book was an interesting read and had an enjoyable plot. I did enjoy the ending. There were some mysterious answers that we never seem to get an answer to. However, it did help me to understand physics better.
The main character did seem a bit lonely however and it seems that his broken relationships and those around him are getting on with their lives while he remains basically in the same place.
